The annual trunk or treat event is a crowd pleaser. The Independence Police Department and Parks & Recreation host this event with community partners at the Independence Uptown Market on Liberty St. Families line up early and the event begins at 6:00 pm.
This year Square businesses will add to the festive evening with a pumpkin glow. Area businesses will compete for best carved jack-o-lanterns, displaying them on the sidewalks and storefronts around the historic downtown. Stop by the Independence Square Association table on Liberty Street for a voting ballot, then stroll the Square to decide on your favorite jack-o-lantern. Maybe you’ll gain inspiration for your own pumpkins. We will keep the flames glowing until 9pm.
