This annual 4-day festival over Labor Day weekend includes 2 stages with 3 evenings of entertainment, artisans and crafters, fair food, a carnival, and local shopping. Experience Main Street 1849 by panning for gold, playing hoop games, watching a blacksmith, and more. Started as a way to honor our founders’ connection to the trails heading to the western part of the continent and as a way to support the downtown business community, the festival remains a way for community to gather and create new memories. The event is sponsored and executed by the Independence Chamber of Commerce.
