Square Table is presented by Blue Ridge Bank & Trust and By George PR. Join us for an upscale, backyard party. The evening includes outdoor games, great food and drink, and live entertainment. We celebrate our historic downtown and raise money to keep it relevant for generations to come. This year’s event will take place in Liberty Lounge. This urban park was created with the help of scores of volunteers and grant funds from AARP and Missouri Main Street Connection.
The Huixqui (pronounced whiskey) Sisters will provide live entertainment. You will also enjoy a caricature artist and up-close magic. Sit with friends under the stars during a crisp autumn evening. Several silent auction packages will be available including experience packages with overnight stays at local Air B & Bs and hotels.
Lighting up the holidays in our downtown is an Independence tradition. We string over 1 mile of LED lights annually in addition to the creative window displays by many of our Square merchants and businesses. Putting the lights up, testing them, maintaining them, and storing them is not inexpensive. In 2023 you will discover the installation of life-size nutcrackers.
During the month of October visit our skeleton installations on the facades of several buildings. This is in addition to our cornstalks, haybales, pumpkins, etc.
Funds raised from this event help maintain and grow these traditions while adding more traditions for other seasonal gatherings. Our historic downtown is the place to gather, to make memories, and to celebrate our historic past while creating a vibrant future.
