The 4 blocks facing the historic Truman Courthouse will be receiving a facelift. While still in the planning phase, the improvements may include new, accessible sidewalks, shade trees, landscaping, and lighting. A focus will be on safer, narrower pedestrian crossings, enhanced lighting, shaded walkability, and a tie in with the Truman Connect pedestrian and bicycle path that will connect the Truman Library to the Independence Square and to the Englewood Arts District. The city will be seeking public input, possibly in Spring of 2023. Funding made possible through a federal grant.
